Ondo NUJ inaugurates 2024 Press Week Committee

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, has inaugurated a seven-member Special Committee to organise the Union’s 2024 Press Week celebration.

At the Press Centre in Alagbaka-Akure on Wednesday, 11th September 2024, NUJ Chairman Prince Leke Adegbite urged members to carry out their duties diligently to ensure a successful Press Week celebration.

He stated: “You should be aware that you were chosen based on merit and experience. We are relying on the expertise of the committee members, and we are confident that you will not disappoint the Union and its members. Remember, the Union belongs to all of us, and we must do everything to protect it.”

Adegbite specifically promised that the 2024 Press Week celebration would be a reference point for years to come and urged the committee members and all journalists in the state to support the committee in achieving its goals.

In response, the Committee Chairman, Mrs Omosileola Adesoye-Ajayi, promised to utilise the available resources and leverage the experience of members to ensure the success of the week-long events.

“We, the committee members, see this as a call to service, and with God on our side, we will not fail the Union. We also count on your support.”
