Ondo NURTW lauded over members empowerment

The chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Ondo state council, Mr Jacob Adebo, has been lauded for empowering members of the union.

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu also applauded the current leadership of the union under Adebo popularly called ‘Idajo’, for the prevailing peace within the union since he assumed office, urging them to sustain the tempo.

The governor spoke yesterday at the union secretariat, along Akure-Ado road during the distribution of motorcycles and roofing sheets to NURTW members as part of empowerment programme of Jacob Adebo administration.

Akeredolu commended Adebo for the good initiative and passion for the development of the union and the improved welfare of members, assuring them that his administration would continue to give necessary support to further ensure the progress and development of the NURTW in the state.

The governor who promised that Sunshine Travel Buses and Sunshine Safe Bike would soon begin operations in the state, also advised members of the union to always maintain good conduct and sustain peace in their domains across the state.

He also said his administration was committed to improved infrastructure especially road to ensure the safety of road users and prevent damage to vehicles.

He urged members of the union to contribute to support his administration so that the people of the state would continue to enjoy dividends of good governance.

Akeredolu charged the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme to make judicious use of them so that the purpose could be achieved. On each of the motorcycles was written “Aketi 4 second term: Odidandan.

The chairman of the APC, Ade Adetimehin, told members of the union that Akeredolu deserves a second term in office going by his outstanding achievements since he assumed office.

Also, the state chairman of the union, Jacob Adebo, appreciated the governor for his support to the union, promising their unalloyed support for the governor for more development in the state.
