Top leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) converged in Akure, the Ondo State capital at the weekend to witness the flag off of the party’s gubernatorial campaign.
Among those present were the Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, National Publicity Secretary, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, Oyo and Sokoto States Governors, Mr Seyi Makinde and Aminu Tambuwal respectively.
Speaking at the ceremony, Secondus called on President Mohammadu Buhari to prevail on INEC to conduct free and credible elections in Ondo and Edo States.
The PDP Chairman alleged that the ruling party was planning to rig elections in the two states however urged his members to come out en masse to forestall any malpractice.
Mr Eyitayo Jegede, the party’s flag bearer who received the party’s flag from the National Chairman appealed to voters to vote for him promising massive change if voted into power.
