Ondo people deserve good roads –Akeredolu

Construction of good roads across the local government areas of Ondo state is part of the responsibility of the government to bring succour to the people.
Making this assertion was the state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, while inspecting some road projects in three local governments in the state.
The governor and his entourage visited Ile- Oluji town in Ile-Oluji/Oke Igbo Local Government area, Bolodunro in Ondo East and Orisun Iye community in Akure south local government area.
In Orisun Iye community, he inspected an ongoing construction of a modern bridge which was constructed to replace the wooden one that existed before.
The governor while speaking with the people charged them to maintain the bridge .
Speaking on behalf of the residents of the community, their Chairman, Pa. Josiah Adegbola stated that the community had never experienced government’s presence 43 years ago until the present administration came on board.
He said that they never believed in the project when they learnt of government’s promise to construct the bridge, adding that they were elated when they saw the promise translated to reality.
He promised that the community would always be grateful and loyal to the administration of Akeredolu while soliciting for construction of their road and provision of borehole.
At Ile-Oluji, the governor inspected the construction of 5.23 kilometres of road in Awokiyesi avenue, Ondo road which was nearing completion as larger portion of the road had been asphalted .
Akeredolu also made a stop over at Bolorunduro in Ondo East to inspect an 8.6 kilometer road project constructed at Fagbo road, Bolodunro; a road leading to a farm settlement.
A representative of the community, Chief Jeremiah Fakiyesi who said such had never happened before in the community, praised the administration and promised that the community will always support the government in achieving its goals.
Speaking with journalists, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Taofiq Abdulsalam stated that the economic advantages of the roads are numerous, as he said the farmers would now be able to bring their goods to the market.
He stated further that they would not have to sell at a givea way price to middle men nor will their goods get rotten in the farm due to lack of accessible roads.
