Ondo pilgrims arrive tomorrow

The 249 Ondo State Muslim Pilgrims who went for this year’s holy pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia will arrive Akure tomorrow.
The Ondo State Chairman of Muslim Welfare Board, Alhaji Dhikrullah Adams Chandy disclosed this in a telephone conversation with The Hope in Akure.
Chandy said 249 Ondo state pilgrims comprising of 119 females and 130 males in Mecca, Saudi Arabia had performed their pilgrimage rites and ready to be airlifted back home.
He said the concluding part of the 2022 Hajj which include special prayers were organised for the Governor.
His words: “Since the creation of Ondo State 40 years ago, Muslims have not had it so good like this.
“Apart from the befitting, standard Central Mosque in the Government House which past governments jettisoned which the governor has done, he had done so much in some other areas for Muslims which all of us can testify to, hence the need to pray for him.”
According to a reliable source, the prayers which was said in different languages, centered around praying for Akeredolu’s long life in good health and Allah’s protection over his family and the good people of the state.
A seasoned Islamic Scholar and founder of Attanzil Islamic Foundation, Ondo, Sheikh AbdulRofiu Ajiboye Lagbaji in his sermon, described Akeredolu as an exemplary leader that loves his people.
Lagbaji said the love the governor has for the country and Ondo state is so massive as he cautioned Nigerians to stop cursing the country and her leaders which he said will do more harm than good.
Lagbaji called on Nigerians to cooperate with the government towards wining the battle of insecurity, saying that they should get the authorities informed on any strange movement within their communities.
