Ondo: Police arrest five over assault on school Vice Principal

The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of five persons, including one Mrs. Dorcas Asije, in connection with the recent assault on the Vice Principal of Complete Child Development Centre, Akure.
According to a statement issued and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade , the suspects were apprehended following a swift operation carried out by a tactical team under the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi.
According to the statement, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations led the team that effected the arrests.
It stated that the case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
Authorities have assured that the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation.
The Command urged members of the public to remain law-abiding and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
It would be recalled that an alleged assault was metted out to the school Vice Principal, Mr. Alexander Rotifa, and left him hospitalised , following a routine inspection amid the ongoing West African Examinations Council (WAEC) examinations,where he confiscated a mobile phone from an SS3 student, Elisha Wisdom which was against the rule of the exam.
