Ondo police promises reinforced security

Sequel to the postponem-ent of the general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Saturday,  the Ondo State Police Commissioner,  Mr Undie Adie has enjoined  the citizens of the state to go about their normal routine, saying, security has been reinforced across the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Femi Joseph, gave the assurance during an interview with The Hope Metro, immediately after INEC announced the postponement in the early hours of Saturday.

Joseph said, “We want to re-assure the public of the reinforced security presence across the state through patrols, and other forms of security checks.

“We urge everyone to cooperate fully with us in this critical period of our nation’s history.

“We enjoined you to report any threat to peace in any part of the state to the nearest police station or any of our patrol teams close to them.

He stated that the policemen deployed to various local government areas in the state are still on ground saying, “The management will take appropriate decision on the  deployed policemen. If they will remain or be withdrawn back to base.

He therefore assured that the routine patrols are still working throughout the state.

 The police spokesman  said the Command solicits the cooperation of all and sundry to continue to be partners in the task of ensuring peace and security in the State.
