Ondo poll: INEC confirms arrival of sensitive materials in Okitipupa

By Kayode Olabanji, Okitipupa

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Electoral Officer for Okitipupa, Mr Fakorede Adedayo, has confirmed the arrival of sensitive materials ahead of tomorrow’s gubernatorial election.

Speaking with our correspondent at the INEC office in Okitipupa, the headquarters of Okitipupa Local Government Area, Mr Adedayo assured that the materials were delivered without incident.

“The materials arrived safely yesterday without any problems,” he said. “As you can see, I am currently holding a meeting with our supervisors. We are fully prepared for the election.”

The confirmation is expected to reassure stakeholders of INEC’s readiness to conduct a smooth and credible election in the area.

Similarly, The Hope reports that security agencies have intensified their presence across Okitipupa, with officers deployed at key intersections and public spaces as a precautionary measure to ensure a peaceful electoral process. Patrols in marked vans are moving through various neighbourhoods, signalling the agencies’ readiness to respond to any potential disruptions during the election.

According to a security official, this visible display is intended to instil confidence in residents and deter individuals who may be planning disruptive activities. The official emphasised that the agencies are on standby to address any situations promptly, adding that their goal is to maintain order and safeguard the integrity of the election process.

As part of the preparations, security forces have coordinated with local authorities and election officials to ensure smooth logistics and quick response times.

Residents are encouraged to go about their normal activities and exercise their voting rights peacefully tomorrow, as the agencies assure that there is no reason for alarm.
