Former Acting Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Ondo State Chief Adetoro Adetokunbo-Saka has disclosed that over 50,000 members of the party in the state have defected with the lawmaker representing Ondo East/Ondo West Federal Constituency, Mr. Abiola Makinde to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The defection, she said has collapsed the party structure for the APC in the state.
She stated this in an interview with The Hope.
The former acting chairman, who defected with the lawmaker to the APC explained that the National Chairman of the ADC, Chief Ralph Nwosu did not help matters as he failed to put the party in order to avoid division.
Adetokunbo-Saka, further explained that the ADC in the state was no longer politically informed, adding that the governorship candidate of the party in the last year governorship election in the state, Mr. Adedapo Adelegan also contributed to the division as his candidature was not accepted by the party members.
According to him ” Makinde was only elected member of the party into political post and since his defection, there is nobody in the party anymore. The party has collapsed because of division in the party.
“I’m with Maknde because l trust him”
The defection, which she described as good development following the division in the ADC led to have the party members worked for the re-election of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, while others supported another political party during the governorship election.
