Ondo schools in strict compliance with COVID-19

As Junior Secondary school three (JSS3) resumed in Ondo State, the schools are fully complying with the directive of the inter ministerial committee on COVID-19 .
In schools visited by our reporter, there was strict compliance with COVID-19 guidelines as laid down by the committee. The students and teachers were seen with their nose masks on them.
Water containers with tap and soap were also seen at the gates of the schools and even at the entrances of some classrooms while students were being tested with infrared thermometers before they were allowed into the premises.
Speaking with our reporter, Principal of St Louis Girls Grammar School, Akure, Omobolanle Ayintete said the students were enthusiastic to be in school as almost 400 students were already in school while over 90 percent of the teachers were also on ground to begin their work.
“As you can see, all our students came with their nose masks and are ready to cooperate with the school management. You also saw our water containers with running tap and soap at the gate and infrared thermometers. We have cleared our compound in readiness for the work,” she noted.
While commending the state government for the on line teaching organised during the break, she assured that the teachers were ready to complement the effort and called on the students to work hard to be successful in their examination.
Acting Principal of Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure, Mrs Vera Agbetuyi said the students and teachers turned out in large number and in compliance with COVID-19 guidelines laid down by the committee.
“We intend sending those without nose masks away. We have buckets of water, sanitizers and liquid soap at the gate. And if you go round, you will see two, three classes to one buckets. So we have them all around.
She enjoined the students to study hard to be successful in their exam assuring that the teachers are on ground to ensure the effectiveness of the revision.
The duo of Promise Omosule and Oladimeji Adelegan, students of Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure could not hide their joy for resuming back to school again and promised to work hard to be successful in their exams.
Also, Joy Adegboye and Olamide Emmanuel of St Louis Girls Grammar School, Akure expressed their joy for having the opportunity to return to school and promised to work hard to pass their exam.
