As students and pupils resume for the new term today, parents and guardians have expressed preparedness towards the resumption of their children and wards.
Most of the parents who spoke with The Hope, said they have tried to readjust in a way to be able to pay their children’s school fees by cutting down unnecessary spending, so that their children will not be sent out of schools for non-payment of school fees.
They said though the holiday was short, due to several holidays during the elections and postponement of the presidential elections.
Mr Gbenga Omotosho, a parent said parents are expected to be well prepared as they have the knowledge that their children will be resuming soon.
According to a business man, Mr Segun Fadipe, “Actually, from the day they vacated, parents have been informed that their children will be resuming in two weeks time, so as parents, it is our duty to prepare against that period. But when we talk about finance, definitely many parents may not meet up but we just have to make effort”.
A Vice Principal at Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School, Akure, Mrs Mojisola Jemilugba said they have prepared very well for the resumption as teachers were going to schools during the holidays.
She said even the school compound has been cleaned up for the resumption and students are expected to resume by 7am today and also expected to do the Principal’s test.
