As Mandot FC Scouting program which is to unearth budding talents dunked off in Akure, the foreign scouts, Kabbani Basil and Baker Andrew Robert have expressed satisfaction.
The scouting programme holding at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure is facilitated by the former Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Dotun Owanikin.
The European agents in a chat with Sporting Hope, said they were impressed with the ongoing programme, saying it’s European standard,with the world class equipment like GPRS tracker to track the players speed and all their activities on the pitch.
They said with the equipment they brought, it will be easy to download all their information and send to all the international Clubs to validate some of them that are good .
According to them, “we are very impressed, their standard of football is excellent, more to come, there are lot of talents in Nigeria, I can’t tell how good they are, they just need to do more in terms of structure, facilities to monitor all these talents.
The former Commissioner, said that the purpose of the bringing the event to Ondo State is to ensure the talent abound in the state benefit from the programme.
He said the European scouts were brought to access the players with the newest technology.
He added that they were in partnership with Udesportsmanagement to show case these talented players with the opportunity to play outside the country and to their inclusion in national teams.
“We also want Sunshine Stars to benefit from the scheme in the area of partnership with this scout who are ready to do business with the state government in the area of football development.”
