Ondo set for Aiyedatiwa’s inauguration, unveils weeklong activities

Ondo State is set to witness the formal inauguration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and his deputy, Dr Olayide Owolabi Adelami, with a series of events lined up ahead of the swearing-in ceremony scheduled for Monday, February 24, 2025.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, on behalf of the Inauguration Steering Committee, detailed the activities leading up to the historic event.
The inauguration proceedings will commence on Friday, February 21, 2025, with a Jumat Service at the Akure Central Mosque by 1pm, setting the tone for the celebrations.
On Saturday, February 22, 2025, a Beach Sunsplash will take place at Araromi Seaside in Ilaje Local Government Area by 11am.
As part of the event, Governor Aiyedatiwa will address a World Press Conference to highlight the tourism potential of the coastal site.
The third day, Sunday, February 23, 2025, will feature a Church Thanksgiving Service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Jesus House, Oke-Ijebu, Akure, by 10am, marking a moment of reflection and gratitude ahead of the transition.
The main event, the swearing-in ceremony, is set for Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure, by 10am, where Aiyedatiwa and Adelami will formally take the oath of office.
Rounding off the celebrations, an Inauguration Gala Night and Book Presentation will be held at the International Centre for Culture & Events (The Dome), Akure, by 6pm the same day, bringing together dignitaries, government officials, and well-wishers to mark the occasion.
The planned events underscore the significance of the transition and the administration’s intent to blend governance with cultural and tourism promotion.
