From Kayode Olabanji, Okitipupa

As members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, storm Okitipupa today for the senatorial rally ahead of next month general election, leaders of the party said it will send a strong message to opposition parties in the zone that Ondo South Senatorial District belongs exclusively to APC.

Huge crowd of party faithful and supporters are expected to grace the rally slated to hold at Methodist Primary school field, Okitipupa.

Ondo State Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa and other stakeholders said the rally will be a strong signal to the people that Ondo South is for APC, and nothing distracts the party from winning massively in the forthcoming elections.”

Aiyedatiwa gave the hint at APC Ondo South Senatorial District Stakeholders’ meeting held in Akure.

While calling on party leaders and members to rally round the party and the candidates for a successful rally, the Deputy Governor said, “the coming elections will be total victory for all APC candidates in the Senatorial District.”

Ondo State Commissioner of Finance, Wale Akinterinwa charged the party candidates on the need to showcase their strengths at the forthcoming rally.

Governor Akeredolu had at the party’s stakeholders meeting last week announced dates for the party’s senatorial campaign rallies in the state, while charging party leaders and members to work hard for the coming elections.

According to the Governor, Ondo South Senatorial Campaign rally will hold on January 23 in Okitipupa while the rally for Central Senatorial district will come up on January 30, 2023 in Ondo town.

Okitipupa, the host town yesterday witnessed huge presence of party leaders and faithful when The Hope moved round.

Investigation showed that hotels in the ancient town have been fully booked against today’s rally.

Speaking with our correspondent in Okitipupa, the Director General of the Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Okitipupa Local Government Area, Mr. Olufunmi Alex Gbologe, said the APC Okitipupa LG is well-prepared and ready to receive members of the party across the six local government in Ondo south and Ondo state at large.

While speaking on security, Gbologe said, the party has notified the relevant security agencies for their presence at the rally just to ensure orderliness and a peaceful running programme. “I am sure, there won’t be any crisis because the people love the Governor, love the candidates of APC, and love the party too,” he stated.

Also, speaking the chairman of the party, in Okitipupa, Mr. Bode Ikulala, emphasized the readiness of the party to receive other members in Okitipupa today.

He added that the security arrangement is tight. Knowing that the governor will be in attendance.
