Ondo State League: 37 teams fight for four slots as attention
shifts to Ondo central

Attention on Ondo State Football League has been shifted to Ondo Central Senatorial District as 37 teams slug it out for the four slots remaining for grabs in the proposed super eight.

 The super eight will end the tour of senatorial districts to determine the four teams that will join the teams that had qualified from the other two regions.

Two teams each had earlier qualified from Northern and Southern senatorial districts of the league making a total of four teams.

Akure centre has 22 teams, Idanre with 9teams and Ondo with 6 teams

The central senatorial district will produce four teams with three teams from three centre of Ondo, Idanre and Akure.

The Chairman of the organising committee,Mr Yomi Seriki, said the committee had so far delivered on the mandate given by the Ondo State FA

Seriki said he was happy that the committee could garner over 70 teams to register for the inaugural edition of the competition which if checked in the country would be the first of it’s kind.

He commended the Otunba Dele Ajayi-led Football Association Board and local football councils for the support to ensure that success was recorded in the competition and in encouraging teams to register for the competition.

In matches decided already from venues at the central senatorial district,in Idanre ,Idanre United FC pummeled Osaack FC by 7-0, while Rock Crystal FC defeated Alade FC 1-0.

At the Ondo centre Valuable FA defeated Babs FA 2-0.

Akure centre will kick off today, Oct 10.
