Ondo State League: Sarajoe FC, Barrack Eagles qualify for semi-final

Sarajoe FC of Osoro and Barrack Eagles of Akure have qualified for the semifinals of the Ondo State Football League Super Eight.

In the first match of the day decided at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure, Barrack Eagles played a 1-1 draw with Idanre United during regulation time.

The match, which led to a straight penalty shootout saw Barrack Eagles edging Idanre United 7-6 on penalties.

Also, in the second match of the day Muyi Stars FC of Akure were also defeated 1-3 by Sarajoe FC of Osoro to set up a semi-final tie with Barrack Eagles FC of Akure.

“The Coach of Muyi Stars FC, Muyiwa Omotosho, said he was not happy to have lost the match because he prepared his team for the finals of the competition.

“I am not happy, it is unfortunate that we lost the match my boys are not happy too, it is unfortunate that we lost the match, but football is all about you winning, losing, or drawing,” he said.

Omotosho, however, said that he was not going to relent as he would prepare his team for the next competition.

Also, Sarajoe FC coach, Alaba Olatubora expressed gladness that his team qualified for the semi-final of the competition.

Olatubora commended the organisers for living to their words for a level playing ground for all teams, irrespective of where they came from.

Hostilities will resume on Matchday two when Real Ifon FC of Ifon trade tackles with See-way FC of Okitipupa, while Zion Warriors FC of Ondo will meet Kakaraka FC of Ikare-Akoko.
