A student of Osele High School, Ikare-Akoko, simply identified as Segun, who died during a 200-metre race, will be buried today.

Weekend Hope gathered that the deceased slumped and died during an inter-house sports competition held on the school premises on Thursday.

A source who craved anonymity said, “It was a sad incident for the school yesterday, as the boy slumped and died immediately.”

“The management visited the boy’s parents earlier today and, as we speak, the boy will be buried today because it is such an unfortunate incident.”

When asked if the boy had any prior health complications, the source said, “The boy didn’t appear unwell yesterday.”

“May God comfort his parents and grant them the fortitude to bear the loss,” the source added.
