Ondo stylist set to break Guinness world record with hair marathon

Akinduro Oluwadamilola

Caroline Ejibunu, popularly known as Carolaura, is gearing up to make history by attempting to set a new Guinness World Record for creating the most hairstyles within 24 hours.

The event, aptly named “Hair-a-Thon,” has started yesterday at City Walk 2.0, Ademulegun Road, Ondo State.

This ambitious attempt is more than just a record-breaking endeavour; it seeks to spotlight Nigerian talents and creativity in the beauty industry.

Carolaura has already secured official approval from the Guinness World Record’s team to move forward with her challenge.

The Hair-a-Thon will serve as a global showcase for Nigerian hairstylists, featuring live streaming for an international audience. It aims to celebrate the artistry and skills of local professionals while creating opportunities for community engagement and interaction with beauty enthusiasts.

While there is currently no existing Guinness World Record for the most hairstyles completed in 24 hours, it is worth noting that the record for the most consecutive haircuts in a single day was set at 526 by Nabi Salehi in London in 2011.

Carolaura’s attempt promises to be a groundbreaking moment for the beauty industry, both in Nigeria and beyond.
