They will be paid. We have so many things running. We have the National Directorate of Employment which is also coming in”.

Ademosun, who is also the focal officer for Ondo state, said payment of the money was done gradually to beneficiaries in 36 states of the federation including the Federal Capital Territory, noting that all the states could not be paid at once.

She noted that Ondo state was benefiting from other social intervention programmes like the school feeding programme and ‘Empower’ scheme which 6,000 people are benefiting in Ondo state as against 4,000 in some states.

“When you look at the “JEEP” programme, 3,000 of our people have benefitted while in some states only 1,000 people benefitted”, she said.

According to Ademosun, “‘Trader Moni’ is only #10,000 naira while JEEP is between #50,000 and  #100,000 and Ondo state people benefitted from it”.

She said,  ‘Trader Moni’ is yet to be launched in the state after which effective disbursement will take place”.

Reacting to the report that some of the agents in charge of the empowerment programme are extorting money from the beneficiaries in the states that have accessed it, she advised people against payment of whatever form for any of the social intervention programmes which she said were all free.
