Chairman, Ondo West Local Government, Mr. Ebenezer Akinsulire yesterday commissioned infrastructural projects in the Local Government area.
The commissioned projects include: a two-cell box culverts at Litaye road Ondo, six lock-up shops at Akinjagunla and building of toilet facility for Amotekun Corps.
Commissioning the projects, Akinsulire Ebenezer said the commissioning was unique because it marks the first public commissioning since the inception of his administration. “It gladdens my heart to inform you that three projects shall be commissioned today. Construction of two-cell box culverts at Litaye road Ondo, construction of six lock-up shops at Akinjagunla and building of toilet facility for Amotekun corps in Ondo city.”
“Insufficient and unavailability of funds incapacitated our performance in office but despite the teething problems of finance, we are still able to deliver the projects. Today’s commissioning will add value to the lives of our people in the Local Government area.”
“I will like to thank the state government under the leadership of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu for the support given to us. I will also like to charge the community leaders and the good people of these places to imbibe the culture of good maintenance so that the projects can last longer.”
The Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom who was represented by the Odole of Ondo Kingdom, Chief Isaac Fadoju said “What our chairman has done for our communities is very good. We pray that God will help him to do more. To our people, we must ensure that we maintain these infrastructures. We should not allow these projects to rot away. It is for the development and benefit of our people in Ondo.”
The Lisa of Igbindo, Chief Olaniyi Felix said “We have been having a lot of meetings to construct this bridge. When the local government contacted us that they will do this, it was like a dream. Today, we are happy that it is completed.This road links a lot of people with Ondo. We have been disconnected in the past. Now, we are connected with our people in Ondo. We thank everyone that has contributed to building this bridge.”
The Oloja of Laje, Chief Osowo Valentine said “We are thankful to God almighty, our Governor, our chairman, our king and everybody for what they have done for us here. We have done a lot to construct this bridge before our government came to our aid. We are very happy today that this bridge has been commissioned. We need more interventions like this one in our communities. The government should continue to help us.”
The Commander of Amotekun Corps in Ondo West, Commander Olaiya said “The project was facilitated by my predecessor and commissioned today for the benefit of all.
We appreciate this kind gesture. Before now, we have been suffering with where to ease ourselves. With this, all the suffering will be forgotten. In the name of our State Commander, Area Commander and everyone, we say thank you sir. We will appreciate more kind gestures like this.”
