Ondo youths in Diaspora seek early kick-off of SMART City project

Fora group under the aegis of Ondo State Youths in Diaspora (OSYID) in the United Kingdom, has joined the fray in the call for the early take-off of the Ondo SMART City project, even as it expresses confidence in Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to deliver on his mandate for the next four years.
The group, in a congratulatory message to Aiyedatiwa, and his deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami, stated through is Coordinator, Hon (Barr) Amb. Gbenga Olukayode, aka Don Pedro, who also doubles as the CEO/Founder of Don Pedro Humanity Foundation, that the duo’s inauguration on February 24, this year, was soothing ingnition of the great strides that lay ahead.
Specifically, the OYIP called on Governor Aiyedatiwa to fast-track “the ‘ONDO SMART CITY’ Project under the supervision of former Commissioner for Regional Planning and Diaspora, Hon Boye Ologbese, for quick kick-off.”
It noted that this would go a long way to attract foreign investors and that, it would bring the opportunity “to drive home the interests of Ondo indigenes all over the world, which the former Commissioner has been noticed to be working on assiduously, beyond borders”.
The OSYID lauded Governor Aiyedatiwa for the “giant stride project”, stressing that it would encourage citizens of Ondo State in the Diaspora to invest rapidly in the state.
“In addition, the OSYID, UK chapter is always ready and willing to partner with the Aiyedatiwa/Adelami administration in its realisation of the ‘EASE’ Agenda where all citizens and residents of Ondo can enjoy easy life and acute comfortability.
While felicitating with the governor, Don Pedro appreciated God “for making the All Progressives Congress (APC) victorious in the November 16, 2024 gubernatorial election, averring that the landslide victory in the election could only be attributed to God.
He also congratulated all political appointees, especially Mrs. Seun Osamaya as SA to Mr. Governor on Women Affairs, and the others.
Don Pedro charged all the appointees to remain committed and dedicated in the task ahead, stressing that they were the beacon of hope for the Aiyedatiwa EASE Agenda.
