The Bible records that the first woman on the face of earth –Eve was created to be helpmate to her husband Adam. Gen. 2:20-23. In reality, do we see the positive implication of this man/woman relationship in our women of today?
Apparently, Arabinrin Betty Akeredolu has been executing absolute supportive activities to the fulfilment of her husband’s courses of successes since the beginning of this regime. Governor Akeredolu stepped into governance in Ondo State three and half years ago with a vision and mission to create enabling environment for the people; develop the state better than he met it and to create legacies of landmark and life transforming projects.
Since then, the First Lady has not left any stone unturned to see that the governor’s mission is accomplished. Arabinrin Betty Akeredolu has been demonstrating the quality of a woman who always endeavor to actualize the purpose for which God created her as related in the Bible verses above by imparting lives, executing monumental projects, and positively changing destinies into fulfilment. She started BRECAN i.e. Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria in Ondo State by sensitizing women and secondary school girls on how to prevent this deadly disease. Many breasts cancer patients have received treatments home and abroad sponsored by the first lady group free of charge. A specialist hospital for treatment of cancer to be built in Ondo State is in the pipeline. The establishment of FOWOSO i.e. Foundation for Wives of Ondo State Officials is purposely to improve the lives of women which she had been doing in terms of gift items, training, substantial money assistance across the eighteen local government areas of Ondo State. “Behind a successful man, there is always a good woman.”
This woman of honour with the fear of God said widows must not be left out. The widows’ empowerment comprising food stuff, clothing and money in each of the eighteen local governments is still ongoing, first of its kind since the creation of Ondo State.
It is high time we stopped primordial sentiments, political pessimism and fallacies, let us embrace rational legacy of sustainable dividends of democracy by Arabinrin Betty Akeredolu for our state’s future ideal development.
The First Lady is a paragon of beauty, possessing a personality of democratic leadership with the right spirit, a carbon copy of God’s nature in love, humility and unalloyed support to see that the pre-determined goals and objectives of Mr. Governor’s good governance is attained. She has taken the bull by the horns by personally with her aides, campaign for the governor’s second term bid in different local governments, meeting non-indigenes, market women, traditional rulers, and different groups. What a wonderful gift to this state!!!.
The trainings of our women in various skill acquisition programmes by this woman still has encouraged and turned idle women’s lives for better is so marvelous. That is why all and sundry are clamouring for governor Akeredolu’s second term. During the advent of COVID-19 pandemic. Arabinrin Akeredolu sent palliatives comprising food stuffs, like beans, rice, egg, and millions of naira to the people of Ondo State despite her inability to leave her village during her immediate mother’s burial. There is a popular Arabinrin Akeredolu support forum that comprises both male and female from different tribes in Ondo State.
The wisdom behind her project is to unite and organize women of different tribes and to maintain the gender balance advocacy. Therefore, if Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu with Arabinrin Betty Akeredolu are diligently working for accomplishing better life transforming programmes and developmental projects in Ondo State, let the government continue for second term. This is a clarion call to the entire electorate of Ondo State to vote massively for Governor Akeredolu (APC) come October 10, 2020 gubernatorial election.
