Ondo’s future lies with voters, not political defections– Adeleke

By Jubril Bada

Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has said that the people of Ondo State will decide who becomes the next governor of the state, not the defection of politicians from one political party to another.

He also explained that the PDP, as a peaceful party without thugs, will make its campaign an issue-based one.

Adeleke, who is the National Chairman of the Campaign Council of the PDP in Ondo State, disclosed this while inaugurating the state campaign council for the Ondo State governorship election on Wednesday at the party’s secretariat in Akure, the state capital.

The campaign council, with 500 members, is chaired by former National Vice Chairman of the party (Southwest), Dr. Eddy Olafeso, with former commissioner Clement Faboyede as Director-General of Campaign and Operations.

Adeleke, who charged members of the party from all the 18 local government areas of the state to work tirelessly for the PDP’s victory in the November 16 election, expressed hope in God, who he said was behind his victory in the 2022 governorship election that produced him as the present governor of Osun State.

The governor pointed out that he would use his dance and praises to God to convince the people of the state to vote for the PDP in the upcoming election.

“With God, all things are possible. I’m telling you to hold on to God because there is nothing God cannot do.

“Our governorship candidate, Agboola Ajayi, has been anointed. All the templates have been given to Dr. Eddy Olafeso as the chairman of the campaign council.

“With the light in me, I won all 25 electoral cases after my election. The turnout today is an indication that the party is ready for business.”

Speaking, the State Chairman of the Campaign Council, Dr. Olafeso, expressed optimism that Ajayi would be victorious in the coming election and become the third PDP governor in the Southwest.

He assured that the anticipated victory for the party will become a reality as the PDP is back for better.

The State Caretaker Chairman of the party, Bakkita Bello, congratulated the members of the campaign council, saying victory is certain for the party with faith in God.

Also, the candidate of the party, Ajayi, said light has come to stay in the state with his candidature and allayed fears over the cross-carpeting of party members to other political parties.

“God is God, and He will never share His glory with anyone,” he said.
