Onirun obaship tussle: Araoyinbo sues for peace
Stakeholders in the obaship tussle for Onirun title have been urged to follow due process and avoid utterances capable of creating unrest in the town.
The immediate past Majority leader, Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr. Olugbenga Araoyinbo made the appeal while reacting to the protest over the selection of new Onirun.
Araoyinbo condemned the frivolous attack on the person of Chief Segun Ajiboye who is one of the Kingmakers.
The former lawmaker noted that the issue of Obaship had been on ground before the emergence of Chief Ajiboye as the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
“Attack on the CPS to the governor is uncalled for, the stool of Onirun had been vacant since 2011 and Ajiboye came on board barely three years ago”.
“How can some people be insinuating that he (Ajiboye) wants to disrupt the process of the selection”.
He appealed to all concerned citizens of Irun-Akoko to exercise patience and allow tradition to take its course in the selection process.
Araoyinbo emphasised that Irun-Akoko needs an Oba now and efforts towards this should not be truncated.
He called on the aggrieved youths to be law abiding and allow a peaceful transition after waiting for this long.
