The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has urged Nigerian youths to say no to all forms of violence in the coming general elections.

The Arole Oduduwa, gave the charge at the official coronation of the new Oluoke of Okeigbo, Oba Lawrence Oluwole Babajide in Okeigbo.

His words: “I call on all Nigerian youths not to participate in any electoral violence as we are drawing closer to the 2019 elections. Yoruba race must be united and focused on building a great nation,” he said.

According to history, he said the Ojaja 1 came from Okeigbo meaning Ife and Okeigbo are like brother and sister but above all we must all as Yorubas see ourselves as one united fold.

He prayed that the new coronation will usher in physical and human development in Okeigbo while urging the people to continue to support the new monarch towards turning the kingdom to a place of pride.

Oba Ogunwusi urged political leaders across the country to involve the Nigerian youths in nation building instead of using them for thuggery and all forms of electoral malpractices.

He said, “We are going into election period now. I call on all our politicians to stop using our youths for violence and electoral manipulations. God has deposited a lot of potentials in our youths with a view to using them as builders of this country.

“The politicians should stop misusing them. I call on all Nigerian youths especially the Yoruba youths to shun all electoral violence and manipulations.”
