Ore accident: FRSC fingers careless driving

The Ore Unit of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has attributed Saturday accident which claimed the lives of two siblings along the Idi Mango area, Ore, to careless driving and overspeeding.

The Corps unit Commander in Ore, Mrs Yetunde Adesina, while giving update on the incident, expressed sadness over the crash while speaking with our correspondent via phone chat.

Adesina, therefore, advised motorists in the state to always concentrate while driving and avoid overspeeding, so as to reduce road accidents across Nigeria.

The mishap, which happened on Saturday claimed two siblings whose identity were yet to be ascertained.

Adesina noted that the accident was caused by wrongful overtaking of the truck driver while the deceased were at the receiving end.

“Three persons were involved in the fatal accident which comprises of three males, where two died on the spot.

“The corpse of the deceased had been deposited at General Hospital Mortuary Ore.” she said.

Earlier, The Hope Metro had reported that the accident which involved a Suzuki truck and an unregistered Haojue motorcycle, happened around 11:25am on Saturday. 

Eyewitnesses disclosed that the motorcycle slipped and rammed into the truck coming along Okitipupa route.

“The driver of the truck ran away due while the vehicle was taken to the police station in Ore.”
