The Caretaker Chairman of Ose Local Government area of Ondo state, Mr. Anthony Modupe has said his administration is doing all it could to nip in the bud security challenges in the council area .
He made this statement yesterday in Ifon, saying there will soon be a zero insecurity situation in the local government.
He said with the maximum support of the state government ,three vigilante groups have been put in place and are working endlessly to ensure that communities in the council areas are safe for all.
Modupe added that the SSA security to the Governor of the state would soon be visiting to ensure the people are in order , saying” deliberation have commenced on how best to direct these groups.
His words,”Already the state has a plan and we are looking at how we will incorporate them to the state government plan in tackling insecurity in our communities.
Also speaking, the Olufon of Ifon, Oba Adegoke Adeusi, who spoke on the local security system said the group’s have contributed tremendously in keeping the communities safe, saying” we thank God that Ose has been relatively safe in the past few months.
“You will recall that some few months back we were attacked by armed robbers in our community. That made us to derive measure of arresting the situation.
We thank God that our government of today leads by example. He noted that Governor Odunayo Akeredolu has put in place same measure as we are alingned with it.
Our local security system is divided into three different age groups that are self sponsored security groups from each quarter in the community.
By introducing these, for some time now, we have recorded zero crime rate because each age group ensures that we have peace in our community.
The Kabiyesi further appealed to bank operatives to resume services in the community to enable economic activities to resume.
