Executive Chairman of Akoko North East Local Government, Hon. Mohammed Mutiu Olawale, has assured traders and residents of the swift completion of the ongoing renovation work at Osele Market.
In a statement, the chairman described the development as a fulfillment of the promise he made during a recent visit to the market.
He explained that the renovation would include the construction of modern market blocks aimed at improving the trading experience for market women and enhancing commercial activities in the area.
Olawale emphasized that the project is being executed with urgency and dedication to ensure it is completed within a few months.
He urged traders to remain patient and cooperate with the construction team as work progresses.
“This project is not just about improving infrastructure; it is a commitment to the well-being of our people. We are working diligently to deliver a modern, safe, and clean market space that meets the needs of our traders,” he said.
He added that the upgraded market will bring lasting benefits to the local economy and reaffirmed his administration’s focus on delivering projects that directly impact the lives of residents.
The Osele Market renovation is one of several ongoing efforts by the local government under Olawale’s leadership to improve public facilities and support grassroots development.
