Osele market set for upgrade as Council Chairman engages traders

In a move aimed at revitalizing local commerce and improving infrastructure, the Chairman of Akoko North East Local Government, Mohammed Olawale, visited Osele Market to formally engage with market traders on the proposed reconstruction of the market.

Addressing the gathering of traders, Olawale announced that plans have been finalized to commence the reconstruction of Osele Market.

According to him, the market will be transformed into a modern, safe, and well-organized commercial hub that reflects the economic aspirations of Akoko North East.

“Our administration is committed to upgrading Osele Market into a standard facility that will not only enhance trading activities but also uplift the general well-being of our people.

“This project is a key part of our development blueprint aimed at repositioning the local economy,” the chairman said.

He acknowledged that changes omay raise concerns, particularly among traders, but gave assurances that the project will be executed in phases to avoid major disruptions to ongoing business activities.

“We are fully committed to carrying all stakeholders, especially our market women along every step of the way.”

However, Olawale appealed for the cooperation and understanding of all market users, noting that the goal of the reconstruction goes beyond physical development.

“This upgrade is about creating economic opportunities, ensuring safety, and building a better future for our people.”

The chairman concluded by encouraging residents and stakeholders to unite in support of the project.

“Let us work together to rebuild Osele Market and shape a brighter future for Akoko North East,” he said.
