Osun Amotekun begins recruitment screening Monday

In a bid to strengthen security in Osun State, the Osun Amotekun Corps has announced the commencement of its recruitment screening exercise for prospective personnel.

The screening is scheduled to hold from Monday, March 3, to Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Amotekun Headquarters, Powerline Area, along Ikirun Road, Osogbo.

A statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Corps, Yusuf Idowu Abass, and made available to journalists in Osogbo, outlined the screening schedule for applicants from various local government areas.

The exercise will begin on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 7:00 am, with applicants from Ilesa West, Ilesa East, Atakumosa East, Atakumosa West, Oriade, and Obokun Local Government Areas.

On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 7:00 am, it will be the turn of candidates from Ife South, Ife East (including Area Office), Ife Central, Ife North, Isokan, and Irewole Local Government Areas.

The screening will continue on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 7:00 am, with applicants from Ayedaade, Ayedire, Olaoluwa, Iwo, Ejigbo, and Egbedore Local Government Areas.

On Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 7:00 am, the exercise will accommodate candidates from Ede North, Ede South, Ifedayo, Ila, Boluwaduro, and Odo-Otin Local Government Areas.

The final batch of applicants from Ifelodun, Boripe, Orolu, Irepodun, Osogbo, and Olorunda Local Government Areas will be screened on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 7:00 am.

The statement further disclosed that applicants must present essential documents, including a Local Government Identification Certificate, National Identification Number (NIN), Birth Certificate, Academic Certificates or Results, and any other relevant credentials such as Trade Test Certificates or a Driver’s Licence. Additionally, candidates must undergo a medical fitness test at a government-owned hospital to ascertain their physical readiness.

Following the initial screening, a mandatory physical fitness assessment has been scheduled for Saturday, March 8, 2025.

The exercise will include a one-kilometre race designed to test the endurance and physical capability of candidates. All participants are required to wear white shorts, a white round-neck shirt, and white sneakers for the exercise.

The recruitment drive, which began on January 25, 2025, aims to enlist 1,000 new personnel to fortify the security architecture of the state.

Meanwhile, the Corps Commander, Dr. Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, has assured that the selection process will be strictly merit-based, ensuring transparency and fairness.

He stated that all applicants would undergo rigorous verification of their credentials, physical fitness evaluations, and comprehensive medical examinations.

The Osun Amotekun Corps reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, stressing its resolve to enhance security across the state.
