The South Western Network Security codenamed Amotekun in Osun State yesterday vowed to apprehend those who masterminded the attack on its office in Osogbo.

To this end, it has launched a manhurt on suspected hoodlums believed to be political thugs who allegedly attacked their office during which they unleashed terror on personnel on duty.

Our correspondent gathered that some suspected thugs working for a political party had invaded Amotekun office while armed with dangerous weapons such as cutlasses, guns and other harmful objects.

According to the Amotekun Public Relations Officer, Yusuf Idowu who confirmed the story disclosed that the hoodlums unleashed attacks on the  personnel in their office with guns, cutlasses, and other dangerous weapons.

He explained that they fired a close-range bullet on one Amotekun personnel, officer Adebisi, and the Field Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Comrade Amitolu Shittu with brand new pump-action guns.

According to him, the thugs put on masks to cover their faces which he said made it difficult to identify the hoodlums.

“The thugs came out from a Branded Sienna vehicle that had a political party name and logo and were masked and reportedly attacked our men with guns, cutlasses, and broken bottles and they inflicted injuries on the personnel.

Our men were only trying to prevent them from attacking LG boss and in the process descended on us.

Amotekun is for all political parties and not working for any particular party and therefore there is no reason for hoodlums to attack them while carrying its constitutional duties.

” We have protected Osun groove, Churches, Mosques, Night clubs, Business centers, Government farms, and Private farms, the beneficiaries of Amotekun should not wage war on the outfit that has helped them in the past.

” It’s our responsibility to protect the lives and properties of everyone in the state, we are not partisan and we equally have the right under the Nigerian constitution to protect ourselves,” he stated.
