The Osun State Security Network, Amotekun Corps, has denied allegations of political bias and collusion with hoodlums, maintaining that its operations are strictly professional and focused on safeguarding lives and property.
Reacting to accusations by All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains, Remi Omowaiye and Prince Adeleke Banik, that Amotekun personnel were involved in attacks on citizens, the Corps’ Public Relations Officer, Yusuf Idowu Abass, dismissed the claims as baseless and misleading.
Abass explained that Amotekun personnel were engaged in routine patrols in collaboration with the police and other security agencies, stressing that the outfit remains neutral and does not serve any political interest.
He urged residents to disregard the allegations, warning that spreading falsehoods could create unnecessary tension in the state.
Reaffirming Amotekun’s dedication to professionalism, he assured that the Corps would continue to discharge its duties without fear or favour, ensuring the safety of all Osun residents.
