Osun Appeal: ‘Oyetola’s election divine’

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in  Osun state, Mr. Kunle Ayantoye has enjoined members of the party not  to be disturbed with the Court of Appeal suit, saying the election of Governor Gboyega Oyetola is divine and beyond human comprehension.

Ayantoye, the former chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria(ALGON) in the state, who disclosed this in Osogbo said with the legally permitted activities of the leadership of the party on the governorship tussle, Governor Oyetola’s position is unshakeable.

He said the stance of the opposition on the ongoing governorship tussle at the Court of Appeal was skillfully designed to evoke psychological intimidation on the APC members in the state.

According to the APC chieftain, it would be inappropriate to allow the opposition to dampen their spirits with the deluge of their propaganda instruments.

He advised party faithfuls to develop a thick skin towards the needless and frivolously packaged propaganda, adding that election suit is won through the presentation of logical and factual details needed by the tribunal umpires.

Going down memory lane, Ayantoye reminded the members of the party that no election litigation could be more difficult than what transpired in the three and a half year life span of the protracted efforts to retrieve the then stolen mandate of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola from its usurper.

The ex-ALGON chairman said rhetorically:  “If the all-knowing God is with someone, whoever is protesting is only wasting his time.

“It was Almighty God that enthroned Governor Oyetola and the same God is still not asleep to guide and protect his anointed”.

He congratulated all the residents of the state for having a personality like Oyetola as their governor as he is neither vindictive nor loud.

He said his preoccupation would be how the various communities making up the state would partake in accessing dividends of democracy in the interest of overall development of the state.
