As the 8th  Osun State House of Assembly continue with the screening of the commissioner -nominees today,, the Chairman of the 7-man ad-hoc committee and Deputy Speaker of the House, Mr. Akinyode Oyewusi has emphasized  the readiness of the committee to carry out a thorough screening of all the nominees.

He maintained that the exercise should not in anyway be seen as an attempt to witch-hunt any of the nominees but a legislative procedure to choose the best hands to navigate the running of government in the state for the next four years.

The Deputy Speaker made this known during an opening speech delivered at the commencement of the screening for the first batch of the nominees.

The chairman who declared that the House will carry out the exercise and in line with the laid down rules and regulations of the State House of Assembly affirmed that at the end of it all the people of the state will be happy because of the crop of competent hands that will be saddled with the affairs of running the state government  with Senator Ademola Adeleke.

To buttress his position, Oyewusi cited Section (192) sub-section (2) of the Nigerian constitution, which gives the legislative arm of government the right to screen nominees for all political positions .

The lawmaker further informed that the nominees shall make another appearance before the whole assembly on Monday, next week after the adhoc committee submits its report to the general assembly.

At the end of the whole exercise which held behind closed door , the committee rated the performance of the first batch of the screened commissioner- nominees as good and vibrant set of people .

At the end of it all ,some of the screened nominees Messrs Ayanfe Maruf, Abiodun Ojo, and Olagunju Olalekan described the process as very thorough and rigorous just as they expressed optimism that it will bring forth a positive result.

Members of the 7-man committee of lawmakers of the Osun State House of Assembly that carried out the screening of the commissioner-nominees were the Deputy Speaker of the House , Akinyode Oyewusi, Kofoworola Adewumi,  Micheal Ajibola, Elisha Oderinwale , .Sanmi Areoye, Olaide Ajibola and Sikiru Bajepade completing the list.
