Osun Assembly passes 2025 budget, raises estimate to N427.7bn

The Osun State House of Assembly has approved the 2025 Appropriation Bill, increasing the budget to N427,746,925,170 from the N390,028,277,740 initially presented by Governor Ademola Adeleke.

This development was disclosed in a statement on Monday by Olamide Tiamiyu, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker.

According to the statement, the approval followed the submission of a detailed report by the Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Mr Olumide Fatunmise.

Speaker Adewale Egbedun lauded the Finance and Appropriation Committee and the entire Assembly for their commitment to ensuring a comprehensive review and timely passage of the budget.

He further outlined the priority sectors in the revised budget, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, tourism, and security, emphasising the importance of delivering measurable benefits to the people of Osun State.

“The Osun State House of Assembly on Monday officially passed the 2025 Appropriation Bill of the state, amounting to N427,746,925,170 into law. The approval followed the presentation of a report by the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, led by its Chairman, Olumide Fatunmise,” Egbedun stated.

It is worth noting that Governor Adeleke had initially submitted the budget proposal of N390,028,277,740 for the 2025 fiscal year on Wednesday, November 13.

The original proposal outlined a total revenue projection of N390,028,277,740, including an opening balance of N30,001,125,120, recurrent revenue—comprising FAAC allocations—of N306,649,908,010, and capital receipts of N53,377,244,610.
