The media aide to the immediate past Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola, Ismail Omipidan, has described as reckless and unguarded the statement on Osun loans’ liquidation credited to Sola Fasure, media adviser to a former governor of Osun and current Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola.
Fasure had defended his boss Rauf Aregbesola from any complicity in the debt profile of Osun State which Governor Adeleke raised alarm and pointed on accusing finger on the immediate past Governor Oyetola of having a debt profile to the tune of 407. 32billion Naira.
However, Mr Omipidan had challenged Fasure to produce records of the purported liquidation of the loans Aregbesola incurred when he was governor of the state.
Omipidan faulted the claim by Fasure that the loans Aregbesola incurred from 2013 to 2017 had been liquidated.
Omipidan in a statement described the claim as unfortunate.
He said it was not the first time Fasure would be dishing out lies on behalf of his principal, insisting that he lies with reckless abandonment.
“Fasure should know that the EFCC is a responsible agency and a discerning one at that. Therefore, they know facts from fictions. They will know who did what and when. This is where I find his call on the EFCC as not only irresponsible, unguarded but reckless.
“Fasure and his co-travellers are merely trying to exploit the raging political reality to spew lies to the public.
“His statement has further confirmed our position that they are working in cohort with Adeleke and the PDP. This, further explains why the PDP government cleverly avoided publishing the dates the loans were procured.
However, feelers in Osun State have been calling on concerned security agencies to step into the matter to unraveled the circumstances of the allegations raised by Governor Adeleke
The new governor had raised the alarm during a meeting with traditional rulers while briefing them about the claims of his predecessor that he left 14billion naira in the coffers of the state government while leaving the office.
