Osun distributes furniture to schools

As part of efforts to make schools in Osun state meet international standard, the state government has distributed sets of furniture to all middle schools in the state.
The newly procured furniture tagged: “Governor Gboyega Millennium Furniture” was being distributed through the State Universal Basic Education Board.
Speaking on the distribution exercise, the Permanent Secretary, SUBEB, Fatai Kolawole commended Governor Gboyega Oyetola for his resolve to continually ensure that schools in the state are well equipped .
Fatai also restated government’s readiness to place premium on teachers’ welfare and capacity building to deliver optimally in their various fields.
The permanent secretary said the exercise marked the distribution of the first batch of about 4000 pairs out of the projected figure of 20,000.
He hinted that government has also taken that of the elementary schools into consideration to complement the conducive learning environment that is prevailing in the state.
“Under the first phase, the 4,000 pairs of furniture will comfortably accommodate 8,000 students. It is solidly designed to last longer and immuned to pilfering by iron rods thieves.”
The SUBEB boss however commended facility managers attached to the model schools in the state for their interest in maintenance culture while charging school officials and other stakeholders including the pupils to make good use of the newly acquired furniture.
