Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola has implored members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state to remain steadfast and resolute, saying no effort would be spared to consolidate on the good works his administration has commenced.

This is just as the governor said that he was confident of winning the APC primary and the July 19 gubernatorial election in the state.

Oyetola stated these during a strategic engagement tour to Irewole, Isokan and Ayedade Federal Constituency and Modakeke, Ife Central, and Ife East areas of the state.

He said the tour was aimed at further strengthening the existing unity among the loyalists of the ruling party, thus exposing them to the necessity to ensure victory for the party in all elections.

The governor, who noted that he  was not afraid of the election, said he was optimistic of victory.

“We are not afraid and we are confident that we will win the party’s primary as well as the gubernatorial election.

“We don’t know the system they will bring. Whether direct or indirect, we are ready.”

He urged party members to treasure their membership cards and voter cards in preparation for the primary of the party just as he assured them of all-round victory.

He promised that his administration would complete all the major projects before the end of his first term, noting that he did not  make promises without fulfilling them.

The governor also appealed to members of the party who were not given any political appointment to be patient with him.

“I want to appeal to you on the sharing of political posts. Let us be patient. It will go round. If we are reelected, those that did not get in the first term will surely get in the second term.

The monarchs while receiving the governor in their palaces commended him for his achievements and for  bringing development to their communities.

Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, while welcoming the governor and his entourage, commended him for his giant strides in the state.

Ooni, who was represented by Obalufe of Ife Kingdom, Oba Idowu Adediwura, pleaded with the governor to ensure the completion of all the major roads in the town.

Also, the Akire of Ikire, Oba Olatunde Falabi, lauded the monumental achievements of the Governor in the last three years, saying he has done well to be returned for second term.

Oba Falabi, who specifically thanked Governor Oyetola for restoring peace to his town after a protracted 34-year royal tussle, declared his unalloyed support for him and his administration.

He said: “if not for any other reason, we must forever be grateful to you and your administration for permanently putting an end to royal tussle that lasted for decades”.
