Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State has been urged not to allow political traducers and power-hungry individuals to deter him from his avowed commitment to taking the State to the promised land.
He was also enjoined not to allow anything to distract him from the good works his administration has been doing since inception.
The Alademure of Ibokun, Oba Festus Awogboro gave the advice, during Oyetola’s tour to Ijesa-North Federal Constituencies.
Speaking in his palace, Oba Awogboro, who described Governor Oyetola as a seasoned administrator and financial guru, said the Governor remains the best to lead the state at the moment in view of the socio-economic, political and security challenges confronting the nation in which the State is not an exception.
He said: “You were here in 2018 to seek for our support and we thank God that you didn’t disappoint us. You have matched up with our expectations in all ramifications. We thank you for all you have done to keep the State safe and to ensure smooth sailing of the ship of the State.
“We are not ingrates, we are grateful to you. We thank you for all you are doing, particularly your keen interest and passion about our welfare and well-being. Indeed, your adminstration is taking good care of us.
“We thank you for appointing good people for us. They have provided good representatation and quality leadership. In fact, they are very responsible. Your modest achievements are there to speak for you.
Also speaking in his palace, Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, Oba Oluwafemi Agunsoye, appreciated the Governor for his prompt response to issues, particularly things that concern the people of his domain.
Other traditional rulers in attendance who spoke in turns pledged their loyalty and support for the Governor, saying the forthcoming governorship election will be a great thing for him as he will be massively re-elected to serve the State for another four years.
Earlier, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State, Prince Gboyega Famodun urged the party loyalists to get prepared for the February 19 governorship primary election and work in unison to ensure the emergence of Governor Oyetola.
He said the party has put in place workable mechanism to ensure a hitch-free process before, during and after the election.
While addressing the traditional rulers and APC members during the tour, Governor Oyetola expressed gratitude to the royal fathers and sympathisers of the party for the firmness and resilience.
Oyetola who was presented with ‘sword’ by the leadership and members of Oriade Local Government, said, “I am confident in the efficacy of sword and what it symbolises as an object of victory, triumph, conquest and success.”
He urged the party loyalists to begin to spread the gospel of good works of the administration and mobilise the electorate to support and vote for the ruling party.
