Ms. Teniola Lanlehin, the Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Education, has decried the dearth of quality teachers in the Nigerian educational system. She also expressed concern about the lack of interest in the teaching profession, noting a decline in the quality of teachers and teaching.
Lanlehin stated that the teaching profession should continue to be a noble one, but present-day teachers must rise to the occasion to restore the discipline to its former glory. She mentioned that plans are underway for the recruitment of new teachers.
She emphasized, “I must use this opportunity to reach out to the well-meaning sons and daughters of Osun State to see the development of the Education sector as a solemn task. Education is our future.
“The Adeleke administration is determined to revamp the education sector and restore us to our past glory, but he needs the cooperation and support of all stakeholders.”
