Osun LGEA tasked on education standard

Officials of Osun State Local Government Education Authority, LGEA, have been urged to be dedicated and work towards improving the standard of education in the state.

Commissioner for Finance, Mr Bola Oyebamiji gave the advice in Osogbo while lauding Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s step in appointing LGEA members.

It will be recalled that Governor Oyetola last week, appointed chairmen, secretaries, members and Community Relations Officers (CROs) for the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) in all the Local Government Areas of the State.

Oyebamij while congratulating the new appointees, described their appointment as timely and a step in the right direction.

The commissioner said the duty of the officers is to ensure the delivery of quality education right from the local government level.

Oyebamiji explained that basic education needs to be taken very serious right from the local government level which is why Osun state government is not leaving any stone unturned in a bid to put things right.

“As I congratulate all officers appointed to see to the affairs of education from the local government level, I want to also commend Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for this laudable step which is timely and in the right direction.

“The appointment of the Chairman and other officers for Local Government Education Authorities will go a long way in assisting to reposition our education sector in Osun.

“If we can get it right from the local government level we will all be better for it, the role of the local government education authorities cannot be overemphasized, with adequate supervision and monitoring at that level the standard of education is bound to improve”, he stated.
