The newly deployed Osun State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Adaralewa Micheal Akintayo, has warned officers against indiscipline.
He said any officer that brings the image of the corps to disrepute would be dealt with in accordance with extant rules.
Dr Adaralewa handed down the warning at NSCDC State headquarters in Osogbo, during his maiden meeting with senior officers, Area Commanders and Divisional officers across the state.
He emphasised that unethical behaviour would never be condoned under any guise, stressing that rule of law and respect for human rights must be strictly adhered to.
”One thing I cannot stand is indiscipline to superiors and the general public,” he stated.
He emphasized on the need to key into the Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi’s agenda of repositioning the corps in order to actualize its mandates.
He urged officers to use neither their uniforms nor riffles to intimidate members of the public.
Even in the face of highest provocation, he advised personnel of the corps to maintain decorum and never trample on the fundamental human rights of Nigerians.
The NSCDC boss also charged the personnel to have firm control of their respective jurisdictions, warning them to be dutiful and intensify their supervisory roles.
