The Osun State Police Command has commenced the enforcement of the third-party vehicle insurance policy as directed by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
This initiative aims to ensure compliance with Section 68 of the Insurance Act and Sections 1, 2, and 3 of the Motor Vehicle (Third-Party Insurance) Act.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Yemisi Opalola, emphasized that Commissioner of Police CP Muhammed Umar Abba is committed to safeguarding road users from accident-related risks.
Vehicle owners are urged to obtain valid insurance, as failure to comply will attract sanctions.
The enforcement team comprises personnel from the Osun State Police Command, the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), and the Osun State Internal Revenue Service. Motorists are advised to verify the authenticity and validity of their insurance certificates.
