In a bid to ensure that people are well informed, the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, is set to commence a live radio and television transmission.

The Rector of the institution, Dr Jacob Agboola disclosed this while inspecting the ongoing renovation of the radio and television studios of  the Mass Communication Department of the institution.

He said the commencement of the live transmission at OSPOLY FM, Mass Communication Department, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree was  in  top gear.

The Rector who inspected the ongoing studio set up at the department with the CEO of Rave FM, Mr Femi Adefila hinted that the institution is committed to the procurement of modern broadcasting equipment and conducive environment for smooth live radio transmission which is expected to commence soon.

According to the rector, OSPOLY FM will compete with standard and professional Radio stations in  the country  when completed, as the institution is procuring sophisticated and modern broadcast gadgets and equipment to be used at the  radio and television studios.

Also speaking at the inspection exercise, Mr Adefila who supervised the renovation and procurement of the  modern  broadcasting equipment for OSPOLY FM lauded the proactiveness and developmental zeal of the Rector in ensuring that  the Mass Communication Department of the institution gets approval to run OSPOLY FM.

According to Mr Adefila, the Mass Communication department of the institution is matured and old enough to have a standard radio station.

He noted that the department has already produced thousands of stars who are making waves in all sectors in Nigeria and abroad,  especially in  journalism, entertainment industry, academics and government agencies.
