Osun residents lament power supply woes, urge gov’s intervention

By Michael Ofulue, Osogbo

Residents and business owners in Kajola, Ede, Osun State, have voiced their frustration over the persistent epileptic power supply in the area, calling on the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) to address their concerns and improve service delivery.

Chairman of the Kajola Community Landlords’ Association (KCLA), Pastor Daniel Agbolade, highlighted these grievances while speaking to journalists during the second edition of the association’s annual prayer and free medical outreach.

He decried the worsening electricity situation, noting its severe impact on both households and businesses compared to previous years.

Pastor Agbolade, who is also the founder of Christ Apostolic Church, Mountain of Praise and Mercy, Ori-Oke Annu, Kajola, urged IBEDC to find a permanent solution to the erratic power supply.

He further appealed to Governor Ademola Adeleke to intervene, stressing the need for government action not only on electricity but also on other infrastructural challenges facing the community.

Despite these concerns, Agbolade acknowledged the governor’s efforts in delivering the dividends of democracy across the state.

On the renovation of the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in the community, he expressed appreciation, stating:

“We thank God for the renovation of this primary health centre because it has been here for years but needed improvements. This is a step in the right direction.”

He also urged the government to prioritise the tarring of community roads and implement a sustainable solution to the electricity crisis, which remains a significant challenge for residents.
