Osun school feeding gets Assembly’s support

The management of the Osun state Free School Feeding Programme have been assured of necessary support in sustaining the exercise in the state.
The Chairman, House Committee on Education, Osun state House of Assembly, Hon. Mofolorunsho Oladoyin gave the assurance during a meeting with the management of the free feeding programme in Osogbo.
The elementary school feeding and health programme is popularly known as O’MEALS.
Oladoyin said the purpose of the meeting is to have preliminary knowledge and the proposed picture of the 2,000 vendors for all elementary schools in the state.
While describing the free feeding programme as part of the dividends of democracy promised by the APC led government, he noted that the last administration started it in the state.
In his submission, the deputy chairman of the committee, Hon. Abiodun Awolola admonished the management not to engage previous food vendors.
He urged them to allow fresh hands benefit from the newly proposed 2,000 vendors across the state.
Awolola reiterated the readiness of the state parliament to ensure proper monitoring of the exercise.
He urged the management to give applicants free and fair platform in the selection of vendors for the programme.
