In a bid to continue the sanitisation of education sector for better results, Osun State Government through the Ministry of Education has sealed off about 23 substandard private schools across the state.
This is just as the state government said it will not relent in its efforts to give quality education to Osun students because they are the future of the state.
Osun Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folorunso Oladoyin who supervised the closure of the schools said the Oyetola administration will ensure that students in the state always get the best in terms of quality education.
While warning that the “Olubewo” of the Ministry of Education will continue to keep its eyes wide open to fish out more mushroom and substandard private schools, the commissioner stressed that the state government is determined to produce critical thinkers who can be globally competitive.
He therefore advised private schools who are not properly registered with the state’s Ministry of Education to do so as soon as possible because government will not condone any act that can sabotage its resolve to give Osun students the best.
Some of the schools which were sealed for various offences like dirty teaching environment , unqualified teachers, non renewal of licenses and operating without licence among others, include: Hephzibah Kiddies, Ejigbo, Najeemdeen Model Schools, Ejigbo, Favour of God Secondary School, Okinni, Omolara Nursery And Primary School, Iwo among others.
