Osun set to increase IGR

Osun set to increase IGR

From Fisayo Akinduro, Osogbo

|
The Osun State Government has initiated  moves to ensure an increase in its Internally Generated Revenue(IGR) without  any increment in taxes.                 The newly appointed Chairman of Osun Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Gbite Ademikanra made this known while interacting with Heads of Units and Departments of the Agency in Osogbo.

According to him, with the survey done so far on the strategies needed

to improve the IGR of the state, it is obvious that the state is capable of financial independence without depending on whatever comes from the Federal Government.

“All we need is just to change our orientation towards being altruistic to the state and know fully well that the aggregate of our

contributions is what the government rests upon in meeting the yearnings of all and sundry in the state as whatever goes round comes  round.”

Ademikanra therefore, appreciated the relentless efforts of the entire management and Staff of the agency for their selfless services and dedication towards moving the  agency forward.

He further called on all Heads of the Departments, units and the entire staff of the Agency to redouble their efforts at ensuring that

all potential tax payers in the state are brought into the tax net.

He equally enjoined residents of the state, specifically tax payers to

see tax payment as a clarion call for every taxable adult to obey.
