The Head of Service, Dr Olugboyega Oyebade gave the advice while addressing teachers during a monitoring exercise to some schools in the state.

He described the role of teachers as a necessary support for students success.

He said the Governor Oyetola-led administration’s target was to ensure students’ excellent performance in the state.

Oyebade said the purpose of the visit is to ensure schools’ compliance to the present administration’s directives on education.

He said the policy included the inclusion and teaching of History as a subject from grade 1 to 12 in all public schools in the state and compulsory preparatory period for grade 12 students writing WAEC examination this year.

While applauding the schools’ compliance, the HoS urged the teachers to see the success of their students in external examinations as a pride for teachers, parents as well as the government, saying this should spur them to put in more efforts.

The monitoring team were Permanent Secretary, Human Resources and Capacity Building and Public Service office, Mr Leye Aina, Permanent Secretary, Tutor General for Osun East Education District, Mr Adelani Aderinola, Coordinating Director, Osun Central District, Mr Joel Ogungbiri among others.
