Osun warns against bush burning

The Osun State Government has warned residents against bush burning during the dry season to avoid fire outbreak.

According to the government, it is important for every household to do away with any practice that might lead to inferno during the festive period.

Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Environment and Sanitation, Mr. Babatunde Balogun gave the warning in an interview with newsmen in Osogbo.

Balogun said there is the need to take adequate measures during harmattan season to ensure that all the negative things associated with fire outbreak are prevented.

He urged residents of the state to continue to keep their environment clean in order to prevent diseases before, during and after Christmas and new year celebrations.

The Governor’s Aide used the medium to warn against using of fire works, adding that anybody caught will face full weight of the Law.
